Master Weaver Edit || Lavender and Blue-Green Korvai || The Kutralam Kuravanji Revival - AN UTPPALAKSHI HANDWOVEN KANJIVARAM SILK SAREE
A poetic weave that bridges art, devotion, and history. This exquisite lavender korvai saree is a faithful reproduction of an old Kalakshetra classic. Its body is graced with fine checks, quiet and elegant, while the 10½-inch korvai border in deep blue and green speaks of opulence and skill. The border comes alive with intricate Jadanagam, Kamalam, and Banaras line motifs. Each a tribute to centuries of weaving legacy.
The pallu, known as the Kutrala Kuravanji pallu, depicts the parrot, a timeless symbol of love, passion, fertility, wisdom, and speech. Inspired by the 17th-century Tamil poem Thiru Kutralan Kuravanji, this saree tells the story of Vasantavalli, a maiden who falls in love with Lord Kutralanathar (Shiva), her destiny foretold by a wandering seer.
Every thread in this saree is a verse, every motif a blessing. A piece that carries not just color and form, but a living echo of Tamil heritage and poetic romance.
